Winter/Spring CSA Week 6

It hasn't felt much like winter again these last two weeks. Some of our farmers are thankful for the warm weather and sunshine, while others wish for freezing temps like we should have in February. On one hand, it's nicer to care for animals without worrying about water freezing, and greenhouse plants are growing. On the other hand, our animals and tractors are wallowing in mud because there isn't any solid ground.

Summer CSA registration is underway. If you haven't yet signed up, head over there right after you place this week's CSA order.

This week's features

  • BREAD!!! I've been searching for a local baker to provide bread to our CSA. Pennsylvania Sourdough is a new baker in Grove City that specializes in naturally-fermented sourdough. We're starting out offering 20 loaves this week. If you order it, let us know what you think.

  • Bibb lettuce and spinach are two of the greens available from Harmony Grove Farm this week.

Recipes

One Skillet Italian Sausage Scramble: Use any sausage you prefer (pork, chicken, turkey). Throw in some spinach with the eggs to add more veggies. Serve it for brunch, lunch, or supper.

Creamy Butternut Squash Pasta with Sausage and Spinach

For a vegetarian meal, try Butternut Squash and Spinach Lasagna.
